Federal Solar Investment Tax Credit

The federal solar investment tax credit (ITC) will have the biggest impact on the cost of your solar installation. The Investment Tax Credit has been increased from 26% to 30% and applies to both business and residential solar projects. This 30% credit is off the entire cost of the systems including equipment, labor, and permitting. This includes solar projects installed in 2023 and will last until the end of 2032.  

Net Energy Metering in Virginia

Net metering through Dominion Energy gives you credits on your electricity bill for every excess kilowatt-hour of solar electricity that your meter sends back to the electric grid.
